A Lavanda é originária da região do Mediterrâneo, abrangendo o sul da Europa, o norte de África e partes da Ásia Menor.
Atualmente é cultivada em diversos países, com destaque para França (Provence), Itália, Espanha, Bulgária e Portugal.
É uma das plantas aromáticas mais antigas e valorizadas do mundo — usada desde o Império Romano para banhos, perfumes e infusões calmantes.
Tipo de planta
- Nome científico: Lavandula angustifolia (também conhecida como Lavandula officinalis).
- Família: Lamiaceae (a mesma do alecrim, hortelã e sálvia).
- Partes utilizadas: As flores secas, que concentram óleos essenciais e compostos aromáticos.
A lavanda é um arbusto perene, de cor lilás ou violeta, com um aroma floral inconfundível, delicado e relaxante.
