O chá de jasmim tem origem na China, onde é produzido há mais de 1000 anos, especialmente nas províncias de Fujian, Hunan e Guangxi.
É considerado o “chá perfumado nacional” da China e um símbolo de elegância e hospitalidade.
Tipo de planta
- Nome científico: Jasminum sambac ou Jasminum officinale
- Família: Oleaceae
- Parte utilizada: As flores frescas e delicadas de jasmim, que são geralmente misturadas com folhas de chá verde (Camellia sinensis).
O chá de jasmim mais tradicional não é feito apenas da flor — é um chá verde aromatizado naturalmente com as flores frescas, que transmitem o seu perfume e sabor às folhas.
Propriedades principais
O chá de jasmim combina as propriedades das flores aromáticas com as do chá verde:
- Antioxidantes potentes (catequinas e polifenóis).
- Óleos essenciais com efeito calmante e antidepressivo.
- Vitaminas A, C, E e complexo B.
- Minerais: cálcio, ferro e potássio.
- Compostos voláteis como o linalol e o benzoato de benzila (responsáveis pelo aroma e propriedades terapêuticas).

Sugestão de preparo tradicional
- 1 colher de chá de folhas de chá verde com flores de jasmim
- 250 ml de água a 80 °C
Modo de preparo:
- Aquece a água sem deixar ferver (temperatura ideal: 75–80 °C).
- Adiciona as folhas e deixa em infusão por 2 a 3 minutos.
- Coa e serve imediatamente.
Pode ser bebido quente ou frio, e combina bem com mel ou limão.

- O chá de jasmim foi criado durante a Dinastia Song (960–1279) e era reservado à nobreza e à corte imperial chinesa.
- As flores são colhidas ao entardecer, quando se abrem e libertam o máximo de aroma, e são colocadas sobre o chá verde durante a noite.
- O processo de aromatização pode repetir-se até 7 vezes, para chás de alta qualidade.
- Em cerimónias chinesas, o chá de jasmim é oferecido como gesto de respeito e boas-vindas.
- Em muitas culturas, o jasmim é símbolo de pureza, amor e espiritualidade.
Observações e precauções
- Contém teína (cafeína), por isso deve ser consumido com moderação por pessoas sensíveis a estimulantes.
- Mulheres grávidas ou lactantes devem limitar o consumo.
- Evitar ingerir em jejum, pois pode causar leve acidez gástrica.
